This strategic shift follows major restructuring at the publicly-funded organization, including the stepping down of its ex-leader last month after both workforce dissatisfaction and government pressure for strategic overhaul.

The latest project comes amid growing concern about the nation's susceptibility to digital service failures and online threats.
Recent incidents have highlighted these vulnerabilities, including a major outage affecting international online platforms and recent cyber-attacks that disrupted production at major factories and distribution networks across various businesses.

A ex-military leader of the the nation's space operations center will report back next month on how the government-funded institute can most effectively assist the scale of government AI ambitions in defense, national security and intelligence.
Strategic Realignment
The center's head, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the center employing hundreds have been terminated, spun out or completed because they aren't consistent with the new direction.
Workplace Issues
The organization has faced organizational challenges since last year as staff protested against reforms, culminating in a group of employees submitting a formal grievance to the proper supervisory commission.
The organization's management stated that these staff complaints were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have lack merit.
