Devoted supporters of the pop star are demanding that a man who jumped a barrier and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user remarked.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Safety

Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another comment on Instagram.

Some supporters also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The film, to be launched on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected bond between two very different characters.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of last year in the UK, and earned ten Academy Award nods, earning two for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
