Netflix Chooses Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The platform declared this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a version of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.

Escola joins a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to the screen, featuring chief the main antagonist, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of the fictional land.

Even though the role is a important part of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
