The former Liverpool manager admits a return to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.
The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is a possibility. In theory, it could happen.”
“I’m 58, so the choice could be mine later on, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I can just see how things unfold.”
Conditions for a Comeback
When asked about which situations would need to occur to draw him back to management, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; No need for interviews repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats weekly.
“The locker room isn't missed in that context, yet sharing a meal with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. Success was frequent thus frequently positive atmosphere at the club. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter in my ear to illustrate.”
Praise for His Successor
He commended of the current boss, crediting him for the adjustments that won the league last campaign. The team has suffered a string of losses across various tournaments following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the suggestion that it might signal the start of a downward turn.
“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. Ekitike, excellent performer. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, things will improve.”
Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward
Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in in 2020, along with the consequences on Liverpool. The forward was killed in a road accident with his brother recently.
“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it's his character. I can’t imagine the team environment without him in it. Putting it into words is tough about it. A devastating blow for his teammates as well. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Handling this on a personal level is not easy. Unbearable.”
